My Best Friend's Wedding {Decor Details}

L had some of the most adorable vintage touches at her wedding. I thought it'd be fun to share some of them with you since it's basically Pinterest come to life :) Enjoy!

Easter Saturday

Tank: Forever21; Skirt: Kische; Sandals: Steve Madden;
Necklace: Francesca's; Aviators: Ray-Ban; Bangle: Alexis Bittar;
Bracelet: Juicy Couture; Clutch: Rebecca Minkoff
Room: Childhood

Today we celebrated Easter with my mom's side of the family. Yet again, there were more kids drinking beer than adults and a few more twenty-somethings and teens running around the yard in the quest for Easter eggs. And in case you're wondering, no, I did not wear the above outfit to Easter at Ama's. I wore this to coffee with BFF L this morning at the incredible Coffee Bean. Special thank you to Miss L for always humoring me and meeting me at CB ;) And, I did, in fact, get away with smuggling Jubelale to Cali. He has now been to three states in just 2 months! He's my little travel buddy. Didn't make a peep during the flight and currently enjoying the large playground that is my California home :)

Below are a few snapshots from today:

I made appetizers (pulled from Pinterest) that were a total hit!
Crostini with goat cheese, fig jam, basil, and prosciutto

Look who found the Golden Egg!

You're no stranger to this outfit, however it was the chosen one for Easter Saturday ;)

Hope the bunny hops your way tomorrow morning!

Twas the Day Before Christmas Eve . . .

Jacket: Burberry; Top: Forever21 Heritage Collection;
Belt: Francesca's; Skinny Jeans: Hudson; Boots: Miz Mooz;
Aviators: Ray Ban; Bracelet: Alexis Bittar; Bangles: Nordstom

Okay so I'm kind of cheating with this title since it pertains to yesterday- but it was too appropriate. Regardless, I had breakfast with bff L at my most favorite San Marino shindig, Julienne. Please promise me that if you are ever in the Pasadena area, you visit this fantastic place. They don't take reservations and are not open on Sundays so get there early to put your name in and go shopping at the adorable boutique located directly across the street called Simply Fresh. After breakfast L and I exchanged gifts and then I headed home to have 'Family Day'. During this day, the Bigley kids are not allowed to go anywhere because we all stay home together and bake, decorate the tree, watch movies (yesterday's choice was the original 'A Christmas Carol' from the 1930s- quite comical), and drink. Below are some highlights from the evening:

Missy wanted to help out
(Bum kind of forced her into this pose though)

It wouldn't be Christmas without Veuve Clicquot!

Merry Christmas Eve!

A Sparkling Surprise

I pulled off a most fantastic trick this past weekend! As you know, my BFF L is getting maaaaaarried next October. As her MOH, I am priding myself on being available for every little wedding tidbit there is. So last Saturday, L had her very first wedding dress shopping appointments. I had long been plotting to tell L that I would not be able to make it for her first shopping trip due to expensive flights and conflicts with work. Well, that is exactly what I did!

I coordinated with her mom to surprise L at the first facy schmancy appointment she had. I woke up at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday to catch a direct flight home to Cali. Then Bum picked me up and we waited at our old high school Starbucks for the store to call me to tell me that L had arrived. As soon as she went to go try on her first dress, Bum dropped me off so that just as L was standing in a wedding dress for the first time EVER, I was there to surprise her :) Sadly, we weren't allowed to take pictures. Otherwise you would be seeing me hugging L while she stood on a pedestal in an enormous feathery/chiffon gown. She cried, her mom cried, all the sales people were enthralled. It was pretty great. The rest of the day was glorious. After L's first appointment we went to The Luggage Room for lunch and cocktails:

 If you must know . . . Sunglasses: Versace, Jacket: Burberry
Bag: LV, Top: F21, Jeans: Seven for All Mankind;
Flats: Kelsi Dagger

Then we went to Vroman's and looked at what ended up being hundreds of mostly hideous wedding invitations. After that we all needed to unwind so we went to a wine bar and had a glass before L's second appointment:

Mama Bistany, Me, and L!

You were allowed to take pictures at the second place but I am not going to share them here because it's in violation of the Bride-MOH-Camera-Code ;)

BFF

Abelated Birthday Tribute to my BFF, L
Once upon a time there were two princesses . . .

            named E and L. Their mommys met when the girls were just little tykes playing in the sandbox at preschool. E and L went to the same grade school and soon learned that being organized and neat was something they had in common. They dressed-up together, danced together, and played sports together. As they grew up, they learned to cry, love, and laugh together too. E and L liked all the same things. One Christmas, they received the same pink Roxy fuzzy slippers, CDs, and t-shirts. On more than one occassion E and L ended up re-writing their entire 5th grade history book because they both took such thorough notes! They shared secrets and notes in class. They talked about boys.

Me, Missy, L

Eventually E and L had to go off to high school and sadly, they didn't get to attend the same school. It was okay though because E and L were the kind of princesses who knew that distance didn't matter, as long as they put in the effort to see each other now and then. The same thing happened in college, when L stayed local in California and E took off to the land of Spokanistan in Washington where there was NO other princess quite like L. E and L continued their coffee dates and Christmas traditions when E came home to the land of sunshine. They shared hot chocolate and drove around the city looking at Christmas lights, they went to the beach in the summers, and shopping in the fall. They grew to love sushi and skinny jeans. E retained her love of chocolate and L continued to savour the sour and sweet treats in life. They balanced each other out . . . like peanut butter and jelly . . . goldfishey crackers and mustard.

Soon L found a boy that stole her heart in the best kind of way. He gave her the prettiest of sparklers and asked her to be his princess forever. E was so thrilled for L that she cried. E was okay with sharing her BFF princess with L's new prince. And the two princesses grew up to be real women like their mommys . . .

MOH and BRIDE!

Happy 25th Birthday Fishey!
