Like Mom

Sweater: Forever 21; Denim: 7FAM; Belt: Unknown;
Loafers: Michael Kors; Bangles: Alexis Bittar, Kate Spade, gifted

For some reason, camel colored loafers and belts worn in loopholes of jeans will always remind me of chic mom outfits. Like, once you have children and stop wearing consistent yoga gear- the outfit above will be what you live in most of the time. I am perfectly okay with this. I am also perfectly okay with sporting this outfit when I'm not even married nor have children. In other news, it's also the perfect ensemble to jetset off to Cali in. N and I are headed there for the Easter holiday and I can only hope that it will be filled with glorious sunshine, lots of laughter, and uber awesome desserts. XOXO

Queen of Hearts

Sweater: J. Crew; Skirt: Anthropologie; Shoes: DV Dolce Vita {old, via Nordstrom};
Bracelet: J. Crew Factory

If this isn't the epitome of a girly outfit, I don't know what is. I honestly wish that I could wear this skirt every day of my life because it makes me feel like a princess. Looking for something to wear on Easter? This outfit would satisfy the ultimate Easter elements of pastels, soft fabric, and a bit of sparkle. PS: I'm not wearing this today . . . though I wish I was.

Swig Sugar Cookies

Ah, the joys of Pinterest. I still can't get enough of that damn website and am constantly finding drool-worthy recipes to pin to my 'if i ever feel like being domestic' board. We're up to 702 pins people. That's almost 2-years worth of daily recipes . . . except not really because most of the pins are probably desserts.

Either way, my Saturday afternoon was spent concocting these goodies that I recently stumbled upon. Having never had a swig sugar cookie (and, I'll admit, I still don't know what one actually is) I didn't really know what I was in for (read: 5.5 cups of flour?!) . . . but I have to tell ya, these babies were G-O-O-D. Like, so amazingly good that I had to take them to both a party and my office just so I wouldn't consume all 7 batches.

Obviously, I used the recipe hyper-linked above, however here are a few notes to add to that recipe:

1. "T" in the recipe stands for teaspoon (as an adamant recipe-follower I was unsure whether it was a tablespoon or teaspoon, I figured out that it was the latter simply by assuming)

2. I used about 3/4 of the 2 lb. powdered sugar bag for the frosting. I only had to add a splash of milk once and the consistency was perfection.

3. I saw a note from someone that the 8-minute cooking time only worked for her because she used a dark cookie sheet. Since I only had a light cookie sheet, I sprayed mine with cooking spray and then let my sugar cookies bake for 9 minutes. This process worked fantastic!

4. This recipe yields A LOT of cookies. Like, a lot, a lot. So be sure you have somewhere to take them or you'll eat all of them yourself!

5. Though Mandi says to serve these cookies cold, I ate them both warm and cold. I liked each way equally :) However, I have to say that it is a true benefit that these cookies can sustain their chewiness and soft frosting while resting in the refrigerator over night!

{PS to Mandi- you should post more recipes girl!}

Pops of Pink

Tee: TART via Nordstrom Rack {old}; Skirt: ASOS; Shoes: Zara;
Scarf: DvF {thrifted}; Aviators: Ray-Ban; Bangles: Kate Spade, gifted; Bag: LV

I kind of feel like an uber modern flight stewardess in this outfit, however when I get over that feeling, I completely dig it. This skirt is easily one of my favorite staple pieces and pretty much goes with everything (as is evidenced when paired with my slouchy tee). This is also the first time I've debuted this ultra fab DVF scarf since I thrifted it way back when! I still can't believe I scored it in mint condition for $2.00 . . . I think another thrifting adventure is in my future!

Inspo Nation: #BeAParty

I was so inspired by what I'm about to share with you that it has spurred a new series I'm starting here on this little blog called, "Inspo Nation." You won't know when it'll hit you, but it's bound to be marvelous. It could be a quote, image, photograph, OR an epic video (such as the one I'm about to share). It will be something that is meant to inspire you, my fantastic readers- to laugh, cry, be outraged, be moved, be SOMETHING.

I couldn't be happier to debut this series with the video below. I've heard a bit about Kid President but never looked into this adorable nugget until my sister shared the video below with me. The message? "You Encourage Me." Thanks for encouraging me readers/followers of PGG!

Happy Friday, friends!

Grey Day

Sweater: Gap; Dress (worn as skirt): Max Studio {old}; Tights: Unknown;
Rainboots: Hunter; Bag: Michael Kors

First Day of Spring my ass. I'm all grayed out (like the weather here) save for pops of color on my sweater and feet (and that's only because it's side-swiping rain outside). Dear Seattle, sometimes I hate you.

Don't you feel this way sometimes? I do. And it's how I feel today, so bare with me while I re-charge my batteries and clear my mind. I'm jetsetting out of town again tomorrow night and am scrambling to get things done today. Things suck.

Snaps in Sin City

This past weekend I was in Vegas cheering on the Number One Team in the Country in the WCC Tourney. In case you're not a sports person, that would be Gonzaga University's Men's Basketball team. My alma mater and best damn school around! We won the tourney and held on to our number one spot in the nation for another week. I'm working off of 2 hours of sleep at the moment since I flew back to Seattle at 6 a.m. this morning. The weekend was quite epic, however, and I had a fab time with my family . . . here are some snapshots:

 Semi-Finals at Orleans Arena
::Wearing- Gonzaga hat, J. Crew gingham, 7 FAM denim,
