Winter White

Turtleneck: Forever 21 {old}; Skirt: J. Crew
Tights: Express {last season, similar here}; Boots: Gifted {Nine West};
Scarf: Burberry {old}; Bangle: J. Crew Factory; Lips: Ruby Woo by MAC

Happy Halloween! I am being a party pooper today and not dressing up at work. The feat of trudging through the rain in costume just did NOT sound appealing. My office is decorated though, so at least I'm in the Halloween spirit. And, if you follow me on Instagram, you know that I tried to get Jubie in the holiday spirit as well. He sat still for all of 2 seconds before he started batting at both these items as play toys. I have to say though, I am pretty impressed with the result.

As we transition into winter, I thought it appropriate to wear one of the outfits I've been thinking about since August. It's the perfect combo in which to sport some winter white. I'm a firm believer in sporting white after Labor Day as long as it's appropriate for the occasion and/or with the correct outfit ;) I hope you have ghoul-tastic evenings (whatever you do!). N and I are going to stay in and watch a scary movie (which I will probably hate). BOO!

Flats: Me Too; Sunnies: Karen Walker;  Earrings: J. Crew;
Bangles: Ocean Leather, Kate Spade, J. Crew Factory;

Pretty prep for this dreary-turned-sunny Monday! You probably can't tell, but the pants are navy. I still haven't put in the effort to successfully set up my new camera to take selfie photos yet- but no worries, I'll get there :) In the meantime, the trusty Droid will have to do. I hope you all had lovely weekends and if I have any followers on the east coast- stay safe and warm! XO

Simple

Sweater: Banana Republic; Denim: Hudson; Jacket: J. Crew; Boots: Nine West {old};
Pashmina: Purchased in Italy; Bag: LV

Keeping things short, simple, and sweet today. An ensemble like this is a perfect Friday outfit. Especially when outside the gloom is endless, and all you want to do is go cuddle up with your cat at home. Happy Friday kids!

On dreary days, it's vital to dress with some color and sparkle so as to keep your mood up and in the right place. Being a California girl living in Seattle, I can't tell you enough how true that statement is. Wearing bright colors is like wearing cute underwear . . . it automatically makes you feel peppy and happy. So throw on those bright purple rainboots, shimmy into some polka dots, and sport your sparkle- it's bound to turn a gloomy day into a sunny one . . . at least on the inside :)

Buffett

Tank: Forever 21 {old}; Denim: Old Navy; Shoes: Enzo Angiolini;
Sunnies: Goggles and Glasses; Bangles: Alexis Bittar, Kate Spade, Ocean Leather, F21;
Earrings: Gifted

Apologies for the lack of consistent blog posts. I am more or less dying of exhaustion at the moment. N and I flew home on Sunday from my bff's fabulous wedding weekend, and we have proceeded to go non-stop since then. Read: we had a Cystic Fibrosis Seahawks Dinner at The Met on Monday evening, then last night we went to the Jimmy Buffett concert. Above are photos of the outfit I wore to the concert last night . . . no, I did not wear this to work today. I was this close to calling in sick to work this morning (because I am on the cusp of getting ill) . . . but then I didn't. And I am suffering the consequences. Anyway, in the coming days I'm hoping to come back to life (along with my blog posts), until then- you'll just have to suffer with me :)

With my bestie bride

So my best friend got married this past weekend. MARRIED! It's so crazy. We had the absolute best time and I still can't get over the fact that she's a Mrs! This is what I wore to her rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. I had been itching to wear this dress since I got it in July- but I was good and didn't wear it until now :) I am exhausted from the 5 days of fun but still reminiscing about the weekend. And guess what? The pictures on this blog are about to get a whole lot clearer- the rents just purchased me the new Canon Rebel and I used it all weekend! Happy Monday! xx

Rainy Day Uniform

Sweatshirt: J. Crew; Vest: J. Crew; Denim: 7 For All Mankind;
Rainboots: Hunter; Earrings: Tiffany&Co

Ok, so I'm cheating a little bit today and sharing with you what I wore this past Monday- when it was dreary and rainy outside and all I wanted to do was lay in bed forever. It's times like these when I'm thankful that my firm has a "business casual" dress policy. Unfortunately, this policy is sometimes interpreted by employees as permission to wear their tie-dye tights or Tinkerbell hoodies to work. The above outfit is about as casual as I'll get in the workplace, and even then, I'm finishing it off with a pretty decent ballerina bun so as to not look like a total misfit.
Today in Cali was spent breakfasting with my bff bride, visiting Daddy Biggs at the office for some pre-wedding dental work and now I'm off to my bestie's for the bridesmaid dinner and a sleepover - Girls Nights are my favorite :) Happy Thursday!

Keeping it Conservative

Blazer: J. Crew; Top: Forever 21; Denim: Hudson; Loafers: Michael Kors;
Aviators: Ray-Ban; Bangles: Alexis Bittar, Kate Spade, Ocean Leather;
Earrings: J. Crew

When I met N for coffee this morning, he said I looked very conservative, hence today's blog post was named. This outfit is a classic combo for traveling, which I will be partaking in in approximately t-minus 2 hours. I had so much anxiety packing last night ("What if I forget something?!") but I think I have everything. I even managed to pack N's suit and a surprise for my bff bride (go me!).

Unfortunately, I'm still having anxiety. This feeling is attributed to the fact that I will be smuggling Jubelale on the plane today (you can read about our other airplane adventures here and here). I'm not so worried about being discovered by the airline reps as I am of having to get Jubie out and walk him through security. He's been so skittish lately and he totally knows something is up because my suitcase is packed. So he's been hiding in the bathroom. I am NOT looking forward to shoving him in his netted airplane carrier this afternoon. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Double Knit

Sweater: Nick & Mo; Blouse: Gifted; Minnie Pant: J. Crew;
Scarf: Gap; Shoes: Vince Camuto; Earrings: Tiffany&Co;
Bracelet: Tiffany&Co

Doubling up on the chunky knit today due to the crisp weather outside. I'm gearing up for my bff's wedding weekend and departing tomorrow for my hometown where the weather is anything but cool. L.A. is boasting 90 degrees recently so I'm indulging in my winter wear until then. Looks like striped shorts and cool blouses might be making an appearance on the blog this week! XO

Minnesota Memories

Thought I'd share a few snapshots of my journey to Minnesota this past weekend to see two of my favorites get married! Enjoy:

Downtown Minneapolis
- We stayed at aloft hotel to experience nightlife in the city -

- Enjoyed some beverages at the bar that boasts the World's Most
Dangerous Polka Band. Sadly, they were not playing the night
we were there -

Reunited with our favorites!

 Went on a stroll through Mill Ruins Park . . . .

Where N got to touch the Mississippi!

  And I managed to capture a perfect Kodak moment with my man

We all wish we could have caught a ride on these wheels!

 Dressed for the rehearsal dinner
- Wearing: J. Crew, Zara, Express, and Kate Spade - to name a few ;) -

 Dressed for the wedding in one of my favorite dresses, Zara heels, and Alexis Bittar bangle

 R typing out his note to the couple
- The guest book was a real typewriter! -

Mr. Pete and Mrs. Liz
- They shall live happily ever after! -

Lusting After Leather

Blouse: Old Navy; Denim: Hudson; Shoes: Vince Camuto;
Leather Jacket: Kenneth Cole Reaction;
Necklace: J. Crew; Earrings: Tiffany&Co; Watch: Michele;
Bangles: Alexis Bittar, Tiffany&Co., Gifted

Sorry these pictures are total crap. I was in a rush this a.m. No surprise there. Anyway, this was the first morning where there was legit fog outside and Jubie was totally fascinated by it. This leather jacket fought against the cold while also remaining on trend with this fall's lust after leather. I am in serious need of some leather pants and am considering this pair here. Have you ever worn leather pants? I'm deathly afraid of not being able to pull them off and/or possibly looking like a hooker.
