One Week Ago Today

Me, K, L

Last Wednesday night, K, L, and I were all reunited after about 2 years. We've been friends since kindergarten so going that long without all 3 of us being together is kind of a big deal. We went to La Grande Orange for dinner and had a most fantastic time paired with lots of wine, laughs, and reminiscing. Even K said that she wished we could go back to being in 8th grade when we were able to see each other everyday . . . L wasn't too keen on that idea since she said that she was in her "awkward stage" then.

But in all seriousness I think all 3 of us missed the days where we could just sit on the couch watching MTV on a Saturday night and gossip about boys, and ridiculous passing-note drama that only plauges the tweens. Ahhhh to be young again and think you have real problems- the grown up versions of ourselves now would most certainly scold the young, scrunchie-wearing 8th graders we once were and say, "this isn't a real problem . . . just you wait till later." On the flip side, I think all 3 of us have done pretty damn well for ourselves up to this point ;)

Holiday Spirit

Headband: J. Crew; Top: Caslon;
Skinny Cords: J. Crew; Flats: Coach

Even though it was absolutely NOT fun to leave 80 degree weather to come back to WA yesterday (which means work and school- bleh), there were a few things that made the transition easier. Of course, seeing the boyfriend was the best, but I got a warm, fuzzy feeling when I walked into my building this morning and it was all decorated for Christmas! I think I love the anticipation of Christmas more than the actual day itself. It's just so magical around the city and I hope we will get a bit of snow! Adding to the excitement of course was this adorable pair of flats I picked up at Nordstrom Rack this past weekend. Don't they just scream holiday?!

Coach Flats for $70 . . . regular price was $170!

I've already worn them 3 times since purchasing them last Friday. The bows are my favorite :) Anyway, there are many fun events happening between now and Christmas so definitely lots to look forward to. In the coming weeks I expect to share a recipe or 2 with you, a Christmas decorating extravaganza of my apartment, and (fingers crossed!) a fun holiday dress fashion post too :)

CHEERS!

Turkey Day

Me, J, and Bum

Yesterday my family and I spent the day at my dad's parents house for the holiday. Isn't the picture above a great one of me and the sibs?! I did Bum's bun . . . it's quite fabulous if I do say so myself :) Daddy cooked up 2 massive beer can turkeys and one even had bacon on it! They were amazing. Just look at how excited Uncle P is:
Check out those birds!

All of the cousins (minus our 2 AZ ones) were there and everyone was drinking wine- which was pretty comical considering that practically all of the soda went untouched . . . and not everyone is 21 yet either. Whoops. How we roll in the Big Bigley fam I suppose. It was nice to be home in sporadic sunshine with crisp weather that didn't totally bite you like what is currently happening in the PNW. My dear kitty, Missy, has spent lots of time with me and it's a joy waking up to her every morning :) I hope you all had nice Thanksgivings and don't get trampled my those crazy Black Friday-ers!

Green, Green, Green!

Sweater: Halogen; Dress: Flounce; Belt: Francesca's
Knitted Tights: Banana Republic; Boots: Miz Mooz
Bracelet: Alexis Bittar

I wore this outfit yesterday. Apparently I didn't get enough green in this weekend, even though I spent all day on Sunday in a bright green Seahawks tee. The weekend was quite pleasant and filled with yet another ridiculous experience that I never thought I'd engage in. Friday night was pretty low key, N and I just went to happy hour with our friend Whit and her biff. Then on Saturday, I spent about 5 hours doing a photoshoot for one of N's client's wives (confusing, no?), who is getting her feet wet with photography. It was quite the session. I'll be sure to share photos when I receive them! N's friend Noble had a Friendsgiving on Saturday night so we all had lots of wine, watched the Zags crush Hawaii, and lost in Pictionary to these 2 dudes who must play the game everyday because they are THAT good. Sunday turned into an unanticipated day of drinking because the Seahawks were playing away at St. Louis. I repped my team with my new fave shirt:

Adorbs, right?! Also, that's Jubelale on tap that
I have in my hand . . . NBD.
(PS: I'm a dark-beer drinker so if you don't get
what jubelale is- don't freak)

Tap list at Brave Horse- lots of my favorites at
one of my new favorite places!

And then the Seahawks WON! So I had to give Nicky kisses
as the shirt said :)

Happy Thanksgiving week!

Current Favorites

There's lots of good things happening in the photo below . . . for one, EARMUFFS!!! Yes, never have I known such cozy comfort! They are truly one of my best purchases ever:

Earmuffs: UGG; Lips: Ruby Woo by MAC;
Pashmina: Italy; Coat: Kenneth Cole;
Nails: Sephora by OPI- Metro Chic

Also, the bun is quite fabulous today. But my hands look ginormous in the first photo which is kind of creepy- I just have really long fingers. Funny story: when I was about 10 or 11 my Ama wanted my mom to have my hands insured because she thought I would make a good hand model. HAHA! I love Ama, she's so hilar. Of course, my mom said "NO, that is ridiculous." Way to stomp on my dreams mom . . . ;)

Blouse: Free People; Skinny Jeans: Hudson;
Booties: Vince Camuto; Bracelet: Alexis Bittar;
Bangles: Nordstrom

I had to take this picture in my office . . . I prayed that no one would be walking by while I was posing against the wall! But note the fab shout out to Gonzaga-In-Florence :) That poster reminds me of my year abroad every day and I adore it. Anyway, that's it for now. Looking forward to a relaxing weekend, filled with GU and Hawk wins! XO

PS: I am obsessed with Pinterest- it has easily become the new Facebook for me. Join if you haven't already!

Giddy Up

Blouse: White House Black Market; Belt: Francesca's;
Jeans: Purchased in Italy (brand: Mossimo Dutti);
Boots: Miz Mooz; Bangle: Tiffany&Co.

A few things: 1. I look very hippy in these photos since my blouse is puckering out, which is kind of annoying; 2. I put this outfit together in my head prior to putting it on, then when I looked in the mirror I realized I looked like I was about to go off to the stables and engage in some fancy schmancy horseback riding. Oh well; 3. I don't know why I chose to look away in the second photo. It's kind of ridiculous- I mean, my ponytail isn't even that cool. I sort of laughed when I edited the picture because it reminded me of the South Park episode where Cartman tries to make a Christian rock band. And for their album cover they take pictures, "looking away like they don't care." HA. If you're an SP fan and haven't seen it, you should look it up.

I am getting the Christmas itch. As in, I want to decorate my apartment while watching Elf and wearing my Santa-tiara hat (wait till you see this thing, it's so fab!), while simultaneously cooking my mom's famous Almond Tea Bread and dancing around in my red and white striped knee-high socks. This might have to take place on Sunday (don't worry, I will document with photos) since I am leaving for Cali next Wednesday to spend Thanksgiving at home . . . stay tuned!

Feathers and Fall

Sweater: Kensie; Skinny Minnie Pant: Banana Republic;
Shoes: Enzo Angiolini; Bag: LV

Notice that lovely white streak on the right side of my head?! I've got a bit of Cruella de Vil going on. It's actually a feather. You know, that trendy thing that all the tweens are doing these days to look like Pocahontas? Well in my defense the only reason I got them was because I was an Indian for Halloween (and then I was supposed to be Ke$ha at work . . . but we all know that I chose to go to Vegas instead. hehe). So anyway, they're kinda cool but they are ridiculously expensive and kind of annoying to deal with when brushing your hair. But the nice thing is that they can be washed, blow-dryed, curled, etc. I'm getting kind of sick of them though. But I'm afraid to cut them out because what if my hair gets all weird?! ::sigh:: Girl problems. Anyway, I wore my new UGG earmuffs to work today . . . that made me pretty happy :) Also, my walk was graced with the beauty of nature with no wind, rain, snow, or hail. Hurray!

I get to walk through this everyday on my way to work-
all the colors put a little spring in my step!

Fri Fri

Jacket: Burberry, Jeans: Seven for All Mankind,
Boots: Nine West, Bag: Michael Kors, Bangle: Tiffany & Co.,
Necklace: Tiffany & Co.

For The Outdoors:
Scarf: Burberry, Jacket: Banana Republic,
Leather Gloves: Coach

I apologize for the stupid title of this post. It's lame. My brain isn't really working since I just had a midterm in my class last night and there is absolutely NOTHING going on at work. And it's totally disgusting outside. Like the wind-rain crap that I hate. It always messes up my hair. Also- I am lying to you about this outfit because I actually wore it yesterday - whoopsies. Today's outfit isn't that exciting and I am still wearing a variation of black sweater, jeans, and black boots albeit different styles from yesterday. Plus, the bun was going on yesterday so i just had to document that. It's obvi my new favorite thing! In addition, I went to lunch with my work friend, M, today and we both ordered the soup and grilled cheese but the waitress only brought us the soup. So then we were kind of peeved and thought we read the menu wrong. We had to order an apple tatin for dessert because we were still hungry. Anyway, on our way out, we looked at the menu and it DID say soup and grilled cheese! So WTF?! We were both kind of mad. Our waitress was a ditz. In happier news, GU plays their first game tonight (GO ZAGS!). And in sad news, I am sicky sick.

The End.

A Sparkling Surprise

I pulled off a most fantastic trick this past weekend! As you know, my BFF L is getting maaaaaarried next October. As her MOH, I am priding myself on being available for every little wedding tidbit there is. So last Saturday, L had her very first wedding dress shopping appointments. I had long been plotting to tell L that I would not be able to make it for her first shopping trip due to expensive flights and conflicts with work. Well, that is exactly what I did!

I coordinated with her mom to surprise L at the first facy schmancy appointment she had. I woke up at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday to catch a direct flight home to Cali. Then Bum picked me up and we waited at our old high school Starbucks for the store to call me to tell me that L had arrived. As soon as she went to go try on her first dress, Bum dropped me off so that just as L was standing in a wedding dress for the first time EVER, I was there to surprise her :) Sadly, we weren't allowed to take pictures. Otherwise you would be seeing me hugging L while she stood on a pedestal in an enormous feathery/chiffon gown. She cried, her mom cried, all the sales people were enthralled. It was pretty great. The rest of the day was glorious. After L's first appointment we went to The Luggage Room for lunch and cocktails:

 If you must know . . . Sunglasses: Versace, Jacket: Burberry
Bag: LV, Top: F21, Jeans: Seven for All Mankind;
Flats: Kelsi Dagger

Cocktailing at The Luggage Room

Then we went to Vroman's and looked at what ended up being hundreds of mostly hideous wedding invitations. After that we all needed to unwind so we went to a wine bar and had a glass before L's second appointment:

Mama Bistany, Me, and L!

You were allowed to take pictures at the second place but I am not going to share them here because it's in violation of the Bride-MOH-Camera-Code ;)

SEA -> SJC -> LAS -> SEA

I WENT PURE CRAZY LAST WEEKEND!!! And I'll tell ya why . . .

Remember how I went to San Fran? Well, I did do that. We played in Fisherman's Wharf and dressed up all Halloween-like to get on a party bus and drink lots of jello shots and break stripper poles (J's fault, not mine!)
M and I enjoying the sunshine in San Fran!

M, K, Me = jello shots + party bus!

Then, on Sunday morning, 8 hours prior to my departure from San Jose back to Seattle, N calls me up and asks if I want to fly to Vegas instead of back to Seattle. I say, "Um. seriously?" And he says, "Yes. I want to see you and we would have so much fun!" So I say, "Let me look at flights. . . " N says, "I will pay for your flight back to Seattle tomorrow, buy all your drinks, and you won't have to pay for the hotel room either." Needless to say, 8 hours later I was on a flight to Vegas instead of back to Seattle. N met me at the front of the Flamingo, we got ready, and hit the strip:

N dressed up as an 80s rocker. I was just the "hot chick"
because I was totally sick of being Pocahighness.

We drank Ugly Sticks from New York, New York:
Rum for N, Tequila for me!

Drank and danced for 2+ hours at The Cosmopolitan:

N wants to go to Vegas with me all the
time now :)

And partied with some awesome German dudes at Paris:
Straw mustaches + 1 Ronnie from Jersey Shore sighting

We had fun with my heritage peeps!

N and I concluded the evening at 5 a.m. on Monday morning. We woke up 5 hours later and felt like death. I have been recovering ever since but it was damn worth it.

LOVE. MY. LIFE.

Video Girl: Macklemore + Me

Random- but I was in a music video.

A quite popular music video, as it turns out, given that it was on the front page of YouTube just yesterday. One of N and my's favorite local rappers was shooting a video for his hilarious song, 'And We Danced.' His name is Ben Haggerty but he goes by Macklemore and produces with a student from UW named Ryan Lewis. They have collaborated to make some fantastic songs with chills-running-up-your-spine lyrics. N and I saw a posting on Facebook about a month ago asking for applications from people who were interested to participate. So we sent in our info and photos and I guess they liked us because I was in the hot tub scene all throughout the video and N was filmed doing The Worm. We're kinda a big deal ;)

I am in the purple swimsuit with gold aviators,
consistently on the right-hand side of Macklemore in the hot tub;
N is in a yellow jersey top with sunglasses and an American bandana;
Usually on the right-hand side of the screen.
It's 80s themed- we had to rock it.

 ENJOY!

Photo Proof. BOOM!
