Bigfoot

Over the weekend I got to share a fantastic experience with N and go with him to a movie-set in which he was asked to be an extra by his talent agency. We drove to a tiny town about 45 minutes outside Seattle very early on Saturday morning to participate in the filming of Bigfoot, directed by none other than Bruce Davison.  The actors are guys we all recognize but never actually remember their names, haha. It was a great time (minus the parts where we stood outside waiting for the shoot to begin . . . shiver, shiver) and N and I actually got to be in some pretty prominent scenes as protesters (Save Bigfoot!) and local bar-goers who witness a bar fight between Barry and Danny. Both actors were very nice and perform quite well with a tiny entire town looking on.

N and I talked about how I have already built an accidental talent resume even though I'm not even signed up with his agency! I owe him the credit for getting me involved in the Macklemore video, the Photoshoot, and now this movie. I have learned quite a bit about the acting world from my fantastic boyfriend and am so happy that he is pursuing his dream while letting me share in the fun :)

Hope you had a fab weekend!

Sun and Stripes

Tank: Nordstrom; Striped Tee: F21; Jeans: Seven for All Mankind;
Jacket: Burberry; Flats: Coach; Bracelets: Alexis Bittar, Tiffany&Co.

The sun has arrived in Seattle! Thank Godddd. It's the perfect way to welcome the weekend :) Leave it to me to finally feel rejuvenated on a Friday. Ha!

Tomorrow I am doing something quite new and exciting but I can't tell you what it is just yet (hardy har har) . . . you'll have to wait a bit. Sorry friends! On Saturday night N and I are finally utilizing the amazing Groupon I bought nearly a year ago to Laughs Comedy Spot for some belly-aching and $40 worth of food and drink. I love good deals like that, don't you? Speaking of which, last weekend someone told me that Groupon has not BROKE EVEN since it's inception. It's like, losing money, isn't that crazy? It makes sense though . . . in the meantime, I'm glad we all continue to benefit ;)

Not much else to report unfortunately, aside from the fact that Jubie has been a little rascal lately and has so much energy that I wake up to him gnawing on my finger at 4 a.m. Plus, he totally farted on me this morning. Lovely, I tell you. He's still my pride and joy . . . with just a dose of crazy.

Happy Weekending!

School Girl Slump

Blouse: Sunny Leigh; Sweater: J. Crew; Skirt: Trina Turk;
Cable-Knit Tights: Banana Republic; Shoes: Vince Camuto;

Nails: Kiera by Julep; Lips: Ruby Woo by Mac;
Ring/Bracelet: Tiffany&Co

Apologies for such a delay in blogging! I have been in a sort of slump the past few days which is most likely due to the fact that I started the week off being still drunk from Sunday (story on that to come). Coupled with the fact that there is simply no more snow to be seen in Seattle, the rain and wind have returned in full force, and I am back in school 3 nights a week. Boo me! Pity party over here for sure.

I also get minorly discouraged when I view all the fabulous blogs that I follow daily (see right side-bar). They are all such fashionable individuals and post consistently with beautiful pictures. I can't wait for the day where I actually have constant high-speed internet, a camera worthy of purchasing a delightful photoshop package, and non-stubby nails ;) Until that time you will have to suffer through these poorly-lit photos of me looking like I'm from Asian descent. I would also like to reach at least 25 readers this year. Is that so difficult?! Originally I didn't think so but now I have my doubts . . . Sigh (I seriously promise that this will be like my ONLY pity party post . . . for a while).

That cruise in February cannot come soon enough! In fact, I just bought a new dress online in anticipation of the nautical theme I will be embracing on the high seas. Wheee! I think I am going to treat February as the new January much like my lady Leigh from Curly Girl is doing. It will be a welcome refreshment to the year that is 2012! I am slowly coming back to life since Monday considering that I was heavily influenced by N and his roommates to take a shot of whiskey (bleh!) after having consumed too many dark beers at Brave Horse Tavern in celebration of the Giants win against the 49ers on Sunday. You know I never take shots for the very reason that they make me want to vomit and it's pretty much the last thing I ever remember doing. I woke up on Monday and my head felt like it was going to explode. I also was still drunk and couldn't even eat until noon. ELISE = 0, SUNDAY FUNDAY = 1.

Snow Night

Hat: Purchased in Vancouver, B.C.; Infinity Scarf: Gifted (Gap)
Lips: Ruby Woo by MAC; Knit Long Sleeve: Caslon

I finally got Jubee to pose for a decent photo with me (though this one took about 10 tries and the original is totally off-center). Anyway, snowpocalypse continues across Seattle and though my office has remained open with a "skeleton staff" (aka: all 5 of us that are actually, physically able to come into the office), the UW has not. Which means that instead of snow days, I am getting snow nights! So it's back to the good ol' days of sauntering home after work, hitting the gym, and making a delicious meal before 9 p.m. Which was all the more reason why I was able to make these incredible Salted Brown Butter Crispy Treats . . . they are to die for and so easy to make! I fear that Snowpocalypse might be making me fat . . . I ate 3 last night! Yikes. N only had 1 . . . but in his defense, he doesn't really like sweets sooooo . . .

If you're in the PNW, I hope you are staying warm and safe!

Snow Bunny

Floral Head Wrap: Pitaya; Tank: Ann Taylor;
Sweater: Target; Tights: Nordstrom; Socks: Gifted (Volcom);
Boots: Miz Mooz; Necklace: Gifted from N (Tiffany&Co)

Well, Seattle received it's first official snowstorm of the season on Sunday morning! N and I awoke to a snuggled up Jubelale who had wedged himself between us in bed and one minute, I looked outside and it was raining. Ten minutes later N looked outside from the bedroom blinds and said "Holy crap, it's snowing!" I was so excited. It had totally sugar-coated EVERYTHING and there was a blanket of white covering trees to cars :) Jubie enjoyed looking out the window and staring at the snowflakes while N filmed the cars that were crawling, crashing, and sliding all over the road in front of my apartment. We dressed for the chill and walked to get warm sandwiches while having mini snowball fights in between. Behold, Seattle Snowpocalypse:

On Monday we drove to Snoqualmie Pass for our first ski/boarding ride of the season (finally!). The weather was surprisingly good and it wasn't too crowded. We enjoyed many runs (most of which I kept up with N pretty decently) and cozied up to some fresh tap Snow Cap in between. Quite the glorious MLK holiday!

Details

Top: Halogen; Cardi: Splendid; Leggings: Nordstrom;
Boots: Gifted from N (Nine West)

I love the detailing on this shirt- it spices up an otherwise drab outfit and saves you from having to wear multiple necklaces and such. As you can see, Jubelale is yet again featured in today's post. I have a feeling you'll be seeing a lot of him since he is quite the attention whore. The boots were one of my Christmas presents from Nick last year- he's quite the shopper when it comes to me! I'm always impressed with what he picks out. At the time I didn't own any tall, black leather boots and he really wanted me to have a pair so there ya go!

Unfortunately I have nothing that interesting or witty to say. Tomorrow I am headed down to Cali (7 a.m. flight people!) for a little over 24 hours to celebrate my brother's 21st birthday. Then I will be back in the early evening on Saturday to go to Nick's belated company Christmas party and enjoy Seattle's first snowstorm of the season! In the meantime, you may enjoy Family's First Photo :)

LV Affinity

Blouse: Forever21; Belt: Francesca's; Jeans: Hudson;
Booties: BCBG; Bracelet: Juicy Couture; Necklace: Gifted
from Mama Biggs

For the past 3 days I have gone home on my lunch break to visit with Jubee. I feel so bad that he is stuck in the bathroom for the next 2 weeks per the adoption place instructions. So when I come home, I let him out and he gets to run all over the place . . . but mostly (much to my satisfaction) all he wants to do is follow me around and lay on my feet so that I will pet him. This makes me feel even worse though because last night I started my certification class, which means that I am now gone an additional 3-4 hours 3 nights per week. Boo :( Tonight I am going to give N my keys before class so he can go over to my apartment and hang out with the little guy before I return.

And this morning the cutest thing happened. As I was getting ready for work I walked into my bedroom to be faced with this:
Seriously . . . I just about died. Like hello?! Jubelale loves LV. He can't get enough of my huge purse and is always rubbing against it and climbing in it! This is why my heart breaks everytime I leave for the day . . . because this photo basically says: "Mommy, can I come to work with you?"

Picking Up Jubelale

Blouse: J. Crew; Sweater: Gifted (Macy's); Jeans: Hudson;
Boots: Miz Mooz; Necklace: Francesca's; Bag: LV

Aviators: Ray-Ban; Bracelet: Juicy Couture; Polish: Chloe by Julep

On Saturday afternoon, N took me to get my belated Christmas present :) I've known for about a month that this was going to be my gift, however I didn't want to get all hyped up in case I didn't walk out with one that day. So the outfit above was what I wore to meet my new roommate. I wanted to look presentable, responsible, and fun (hence the ruffles and chunky necklace). On a tiny side note, I have to apologize for how much I wear those Miz Mooz boots . . . I mean, they are the most comfortable and functional footwear I own for this unpredictable Seattle weather and they go with everything. I already have another pair of black and tan boots on my radar that I plan to purchase sooner than later so just bear with me till then ;)

Okay, so are you ready?! EEK! Meet the new little man in my life . . .
JUBELALE!

Yes, I named him after one of my favorite winter ales by Deschutes Brewery. He was the second kitty I held and he was so cuddly with both N and I that I just had to have him. He's a gray tabby and 6 months old with beautiful green eyes. He is very playful and has adjusted surprisingly well to his new home. Except, I had to put him to sleep in the bathroom last night because he wouldn't stop running around and N and I couldn't fall asleep :/ It just about broke my heart when I left for work this morning and heard him crying in the bathroom. I have to keep him in there for 2 weeks when I'm gone because the adoption place said that it would be the best way for him to adjust. Anyway, I am just SO THRILLED with little Jubeee and I think N is just the best boyfriend ever for getting me one of my favorite Christmas presents of all time :)

Hello! I hope I get to meet you soon :)

Stripes and A Starbucks Cup

Blouse: Gap; Sweater: Gift from Aunt N (Macys);
Slacks: Elie Tahari; Boots: Nine West; Watch: Michele

I had to include a picture of the pants close up because
you can't tell that they're striped in the first photo. Also,
this Starbucks cup says: "When we're together, every day is
a snow day." Cue "Awww!" please.

These Tahari slacks were the very first "professional" clothing item I owned. My mom bought them for me my senior year of college when I was getting ready to move to Seattle and interview for my first "big girl" job. They're still one of my favorites, as they are extremely flattering and have just the right amount of bell at the bottom. They are also lightweight enough to wear in the summer, which I love for those cooler Seattle summer mornings.

In other news, I am absolutely NOT looking forward to starting school up again next week- bleh. The only silver lining is that I have my favorite teacher from last quarter, and I officially passed both my classes from last quarter as well- HURRAY! I have also signed up to do the Camp Pendleton Mud Run in June with Bum and Daddy Biggs, which means that I will be forcing myself to get up at the butt crack of dawn to workout since I will have class until then three nights a week.

PS: The Resolutioners have totally taken over my gym as predicted . . . Groupon ran a special membership for my gym on New Year's Day so it's no wonder it's swamped. Yesterday I had to do squats in the "big-man-weight-lift area" because there was no room in front of the stretching mirrors . . . I'm sure they all looked at me like I was crazy but I just blasted Nicki Minaj and focused on my red, sweaty face.

Cheers!

Fire and Roses

Top: Gift from Bum; Slacks: Banana Republic;
Shoes: Dolce Vita; Necklace: Francesca's;
Bracelet: Juicy Couture

I am minorly obsessed with very wide-leg dress pants. Especially if they are high-waisted. There is something so chic about a blousy, silk top tucked into fitted wide-leg slacks. These ones above are my absolute favorite. They are quite lightweight so I can wear them in the summer as well which is just fab.

I hope you all had a fantastic New Year weekend! Mine was spent watching lots of movies, football, and consuming delectable treats- all of which I will need to work off in the coming week. And I know I'm going to have to fight those Gym Resolutioners for my coveted machines and weights too ::sigh:: I only hope the trend dies sooner than later. Oh, also of note was the fact that N and I basically started a fire at a Mexican restaurant on New Year's Day. The chip basket with wax paper was too close to the votive candle and all of a sudden flames were everywhere. We both tried to blow it out but it only got worse so finally I just yelled, "Ummmm" to get some attention (I didn't want to scream fire and freak everybody out) and dumped my glass of water on it. Then the manager came over and said we weren't the first to have that happen to us and N said, "then why do you still serve the chips next to a flaming candle?!" Touche, my love, touche.

Also, I hope you weren't blinded by my bling bling nails in the second photo. Since I've had acrylics for the past month, I painted them OPI's 'Crown Me Already' to be festive for NYE and now it looks like I got my nails done somewhere in the Bronx. So embarrassing. Must get it fixed ASAP.

And, since I wasn't able to find the Rose Parade on Monday morning I had to have N TiVo it for me, which means that he and I will be having a date soon consisting of the Rose Parade, it's crappy commentary, and hot chocolate :)

Happy New Year!
