Makeshift

Top: Banana Republic; Skirt: J. Crew; Belt: Nasty Gal;
Shoes: Enzo Angiolini; Bangles: Ocean Leather, F21, Nordstrom

Instead of tucking this top into the skirt, I decided to leave it out for a belted makeshift dress look. I quite appreciate the outcome, especially because these colors are so bold. The additions of leopard make for a fun work outfit too- which I am always in the market for!

I was kind of out for the count yesterday (read: hungover, sunburnt, and scratched) due to N and I's participation in Seattle's annual Seafair on Sunday. This annual celebration is basically like Mardi Gras on the water (but with a Pirate theme). It is a huge party on Lake Washington with hydroplane races, blue angel shows, and billions of boats containing party people. N and I were lucky enough to have one of my friends rent a houseboat for the occasion. It was outfitted with a water slide, hot tub, grill, and had a secured spot on the log boom which is the best place to be to watch the planes and boats on the water. Too many drinking games scored me a mean sunburn (and hangover) since I forgot to re-apply sunscreen and sitting on the log boom graced my bum with little red scratches- which are the worst and most annoying kind! We had a blast though and met some crazy-awesome new people so I'd say the slight suffering was worth the experience. Here are some snapshots:

 Seattle skyline + Old college friends!

 The slide tells it like it is + me and my pirate boy + the BEST anchor opener!

  1. Awww...I miss Seafair. I don't miss the day after Seafair, however. So jealous.

    Hope you are feeling better!

    Love the skirt and top...looks fab!
